On February 1, 2024, UAS7 organized one installation of the #DWIHzeitgeist series on “Science Diplomacy in Practice”. The webinar brought together UAS7 science diplomacy practitioners: Prof. Dr. Lars Ribbe from TH Köln UAS and Prof. Dr. iur. Ekkehard Strauß from HWR Berlin, as well as Prof. Melissa Bilec from our partner, the University of Pittsburgh.

On December 6th, 2023, we hosted our annual holiday party at the German House. Every year, the New York liaison offices of German universities, including University of Cologne, Campus OWL, UA Ruhr, University of Heidelberg, University of Freiburg, UAS7 and the German Research Foundation (DFG) celebrate a joint holiday celebration for friends, partners, and alumni.

UAS7 President and Executive Director of the UAS7 New York office visit Drexel University to expand their partnership and explore potential collaborations. Drexel's emphasis on co-op education, applied sciences, and entrepreneurship aligns well with UAS7's mission. Talks with university officials highlighted shared interests and possible innovative projects. Learn more about this visit that reinforced the strong bond between institutions.

Consul General David Gill warmly welcomed UAS7 friends, alumni, and other German universities to the anticipated annual New Year's Reception held on February 9th, 2023 at the Consul's residence. This event was a perfect occasion to connect, network and celebrate the new year in style. As always, the gathering was buzzing with excitement and provided a fantastic opportunity for UAS7 alumni in the greater New York area to reconnect and form new connections. It was truly an unforgettable experience that left everyone with a sense of renewed energy and enthusiasm for the new year!

On December 7, 2022 the Alumni Holiday Gathering had its comeback after two years. Together with the liaison offices of German universities located in New York City, the German Research Foundation (DFG), and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) we organized our well missed event at the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany New York. Friends and alumni of various German universities and institutions came together to kick-off the holiday season.

This year, the hybrid event took place from 17 to 28th of October, gathering more than 140 students from 12 universities from all over the world. The multicultural teams worked hard to develop solutions tackling the Sustainable Development Goal 11: make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

On October 6 and 7, 2022 the Future Forum: Fabricating the Future took place at avangarde event space Company, and with strong representation from HAW Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, our partner Drexel University, and of course, a broad range of relevant US and German researchers, teachers, designers, producers, journalists and more. Our speakers got a chance to connect and network with US, Canadian and other German high-impact fashion folks and politicians. 

UAS7 is pleased to support the newly established DWIH - German Center for Research and Innovation - in San Francisco. On the occasion of the official opening ceremony, Patrizia Nobbe, Executive Director of UAS7 New York, sends our warmest wishes to our colleagues at the West Coast.
