Holiday Party 2023
On December 6th, 2023, we hosted our annual holiday party at the German House. Every year, the New York liaison offices of German universities, including University of Cologne, Campus OWL, UA Ruhr, University of Heidelberg, University of Freiburg, UAS7 and the German Research Foundation (DFG) celebrate a joint holiday celebration for friends, partners, and alumni.
After a short introduction from the three current interns Rebecca Theis (University of Cologne), Helen König (UA Ruhr), and Carina Boland (UAS7), Mariella de Carvalho of the German consulate general in New York welcomed everyone to the festivities.
After that, there was plenty of time for networking and reconnecting over some Glühwein and typical German treats such as Lebkuchen, pretzels and Spekulatius. With Jazz Pianist Manuel Schmiedel playing in the background and festive decorations across the room, the atmosphere was truly magical. To end off the night, everyone came together to sing festive carols such as Stille Nacht and Jingle Bells, allowing everyone to truly feel the holiday spirit.
Overall, this year’s holiday party was a huge success. Thank you to everyone involved in the planning and execution of this holiday party.
