After six exciting months of interning for UAS7 in New York City, my time in the city that never sleeps has come to an end. I would like to take a moment to look back on this incredible time.

The internship at the UAS7 Liaison Office in New York felt both like a lifetime and like two days, despite being six months long. I learned a lot from my colleagues and had the opportunity to participate in thought-provoking events. I encourage others to live abroad and experience different cultures, as it can be a truly enriching adventure.

UAS7 President and Executive Director of the UAS7 New York office visit Drexel University to expand their partnership and explore potential collaborations. Drexel's emphasis on co-op education, applied sciences, and entrepreneurship aligns well with UAS7's mission. Meet Carolina and Morgana, the new team members of UAS7. For the first time, we will be working with two interns simultaneously - Carolina operating in the USA and Morgana in Brazil. Their mother tongue is one of the things that enhance their connection - find out more about their background.

Gabriel Steinberg, recent computer science graduate from Binghamton University (SUNY), added a practical research experience to his studies. Through the UAS7 internship program, he was originally going to complete a research internship in multi-agent modelling and simulation with the MARS group at HAW Hamburg in Germany, but the corona pandemic put an end to those plans. Deciding he didn’t want to pass up on the opportunity, he arranged with the coordinating professor to complete the research remotely.

Balancing synochronous and asynchronous teaching; selecting the right technology tool and preparing students for international collaboration – these were just some of the many topics which were covered in the first round of the UAS7 Virtual Academy’s Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) coaching sessions held in early January 2021.

On December 2nd 2020, the UAS7 Virtual Academy held its inaugural kick-off event. Project stakeholders from both the US and Germany came together virtually to learn more about the plans for the UAS7 Virtual Academy and get to know one another. Almost 50 faculty, project coordinators, e-learning and digitalization specialists as well as senior university members joined the event.
