UAS7 research internship with MARS at HAW Hamburg

Gabriel Steinberg, recent computer science graduate from Binghamton University (SUNY), added a practical research experience to his studies. Through the UAS7 internship program, he was originally going to complete a research internship in multi-agent modelling and simulation with the MARS group at HAW Hamburg in Germany, but the corona pandemic put an end to those plans. Deciding he didn’t want to pass up on the opportunity, he arranged with the coordinating professor to complete the research remotely.

New Year’s Mixer

This year’s New Year’s reception went virtual! On January 14, 2021, the UAS7 North America Office invited friends and alumni to the traditional New Year’s reception, organized in cooperation with 10 Liaison Offices of German universities and research institutions, and hosted by the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in New York, Mr. David Gill.

VIRTUAL CAREER BOOSTER GERMANY 2020

On November 5 and 6, UAS7 had the opportunity to participate in the Annual Goethe Institut "Career Booster Germany" - per 2020 restrictions in virtual form. This year, UAS7 was represented in three separate sessions, presenting Study Opportunities at Universities of Applied Sciences and graduate programs. Additionally, Nathanial Long - SIP alumnus - participated in an Alumni Panel Discussion about Studying in Germany.

Katie Kuester is a marketing major from the University of Southern Indiana who spent her SIP experience at the Hochschule Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences this year, after participating in a summer program in 2019. A unique connection to Germany

David Driscoll studied abroad at HAW Hamburg in 2009 as part of the UAS7 Study and Internship Program. Today he works as a Senior Designer for the Peter Schmidt Group in Munich. But it all started with a glimpse of his German heritage in 1997.
