Dennis Behrens spent one semester at the University at Albany, SUNY, in 2017 as a part of UAS7’s SIP program. After graduating from Bremen City University of Applied Sciences, he returned to the US and took a job at the German Convention Bureau in New York. He has now been living in New York for over 5 years and has been working for the airline JetBlue Airways since July 2021. In an interview Dennis looks back on his way from Bremen to New York.

At the 2022 AIEA Annual Conference, UAS7 had the pleasure to share their first year Virtual Academy experiences on a panel entitled “Taking Virtual to the Next Level”, jointly with Ben Brisch, Director of the DAAD North America Office, Ann-Kristin Matthe, Head of Section Digitalisation for Internationalisation at DAAD Germany, and Annette Richie, Director of Global Academic Programs at our partner University at Albany.

On December 4, 2019, we organized our annual holiday party, in cooperation with the liaison offices of German universities located in New York City. As in previous years, friends and alumni of 16 German universities as well as the German Research Foundation (DFG) came together at the New York premises of Fresenius University of Applied Sciences to kick-off the holiday season. 

An “International student week for entrepreneurship” took place from Nov 11th to Nov 14th in São Leopoldo (RS). Coordinated by UNISINOS, Tecnosinos, FH Münster and UAS7.

Our next event on Employability (made) in Germany is coming up at the University of Southern Indiana on April 17 from 2pm to 5pm. The event is part of the Year of German-American Friendship or Deutschlandjahr – Wunderbar Together!

On January 30, 2019, UAS7 and Bremen City University of Applied Sciences launched a series of five events within Wunderbar Together, the Year of German-American Friendship 2019, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).
