The Internship Program is also eligible to graduate students.

Students need to be currently enrolled as sophomores or juniors in a field represented on UAS7 campuses - engineering, science, life sciences, business, management, economics, architecture, art, design, journalism, or social work.

A complete application needs to be submitted by the respective deadline.

Specific Eligibility Requirements for IP & SIP Lab

  • Prior laboratory experience (academic or otherwise)
  • Sufficient English fluency to function in an international scientific work environment
  •  Demonstrated preparation and prerequisites for the proposed internship

In addition to these basic criteria, please refer to the requirements and prerequisites listed in the project description of your selected IP PROJECTS

Further Notes on Eligibility

Competitive applicants will have an outstanding record of academic achievement (minimum U.S. GPA of 3.0 or equivalent), language skills appropriate to their proposed course of study in Germany, strong support from academic and study abroad advisors, and a well thought-out Study Plan and Statement of Motivation (for further information on application documents please see below).

Knowledge of German is not a requirement for the Study and Internship Program! You can choose classes in English at all our member institutions. The working language for research internships is English, as well.

However, basic knowledge of German is helpful to navigate everyday life. For students applying to the SIP company internship line, German is highly recommended in order to be able to find an internship placement at a German company.
