Virtual Academy Spotlight Hochschule Bremen: Air Pollution Control – A Comparison Between US and German Cities

The course Air Pollution Control, part of the UAS7 Virtual Academy, was a transatlantic a cooperation between Bremen University of Applied Sciences and the University at Albany. The key goals of the joint course were to engage students in solving real-world air pollution problems through project-based learning. In doing so, they learned to foster collaboration, relationships and networks with fellow international students and their instructors.

From Nigeria to the USA and Germany

Born and raised in Nigeria, Vitalis Nujimem later moved to the US to pursue his bachelor's and master's degree. For his studies, he needed a stay abroad and it soon became clear to him that he wanted to come to Germany. By receiving the UAS7 scholarship, Vitalis was then given the opportunity to study in Germany at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. In the following Interview he reports about his experiences and his future plans to settle down in Germany.

VIRTUAL CAREER BOOSTER GERMANY 2020

On November 5 and 6, UAS7 had the opportunity to participate in the Annual Goethe Institut "Career Booster Germany" - per 2020 restrictions in virtual form. This year, UAS7 was represented in three separate sessions, presenting Study Opportunities at Universities of Applied Sciences and graduate programs. Additionally, Nathanial Long - SIP alumnus - participated in an Alumni Panel Discussion about Studying in Germany.

German Ministry for Education and Research grants 250,000 EUR in funding for transatlantic "UAS7 Virtual Academy"

Due to the corona pandemic, not only in Germany has the university system predominantly gone virtual, universities have significantly expanded their digital teaching and learning offerings. This increase in digitalization is also to be anchored in international university cooperation projects. To this end, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will fund the joint project "UAS7 Virtual Academy" led by Bremen City University of Applied Sciences. The total grant amount is 250,000 euros.
