UAS7 research internship with MARS at HAW Hamburg

Gabriel Steinberg, recent computer science graduate from Binghamton University (SUNY), added a practical research experience to his studies. Through the UAS7 internship program, he was originally going to complete a research internship in multi-agent modelling and simulation with the MARS group at HAW Hamburg in Germany, but the corona pandemic put an end to those plans. Deciding he didn’t want to pass up on the opportunity, he arranged with the coordinating professor to complete the research remotely.

Moving the Cities 2020, Hackathon Uniting Industry & Academia

Moving the Cities is an international event that has been reoccurring annually since 2018. It unites students, professors, industry representatives and universities from all over the world. The goal of Moving the Cities is to look at regional challenges that cities face from an international perspective. To do just that, 135+ students from 6 countries collaborated digitally for one week. 28 internationally mixed teams with participants from Brazil, Chile, Germany, Colombia, England and the USA competed in the final pitches to convince the international jury of their solution.

German Ministry for Education and Research grants 250,000 EUR in funding for transatlantic "UAS7 Virtual Academy"

Due to the corona pandemic, not only in Germany has the university system predominantly gone virtual, universities have significantly expanded their digital teaching and learning offerings. This increase in digitalization is also to be anchored in international university cooperation projects. To this end, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will fund the joint project "UAS7 Virtual Academy" led by Bremen City University of Applied Sciences. The total grant amount is 250,000 euros.
