Virtual Academy Spotlight Hochschule Bremen: Overcoming Linguistic Challenges in International Teams

Back in February 2021, Professor Mechthild Schrooten from the Bremen City University of Applied Sciences (HSB) and Professor Rita Biswas from the University at Albany (UA) started a joint transatlantic teaching project as part of the UAS7 Virtual Academy. On April 12th, the third joint session took place, which was a highlight of the course for teachers and students alike.

Virtual Academy Spotlight Hochschule München: Leadership project welcomes guest speakers from both sides of the Atlantic

As part of the UAS7 Virtual Academy pilot phase Dominik Hammer of Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences (HM) and Martha Asselin of the University at Albany (Ualbany) are co-teaching a virtual course on interdisciplinary leadership with a focus on decision-making processes in crisis situations. On April 7, the transatlantic class was joined by high-ranking experts of both institutions who shared valuable insights into their own leadership experience in crisis situations.

Moving the Cities 2020, Hackathon Uniting Industry & Academia

Moving the Cities is an international event that has been reoccurring annually since 2018. It unites students, professors, industry representatives and universities from all over the world. The goal of Moving the Cities is to look at regional challenges that cities face from an international perspective. To do just that, 135+ students from 6 countries collaborated digitally for one week. 28 internationally mixed teams with participants from Brazil, Chile, Germany, Colombia, England and the USA competed in the final pitches to convince the international jury of their solution.

5 UAS7-Projekte für HAW.International ausgewählt

Um zukünftig auf internationaler Ebene noch wettbewerbsfähiger zu sein, unterstützen das BMBF und der DAAD die Internationalisierung von Hochschulen für angewandte Wissenschaften mit 21 Millionen Euro. In diesem Jahr wurden gleich 5 UAS7-Projekte bei der Ausschreibung HAW.International ausgewählt.

UAS7 Virtual Academy officially kicked-off

On December 2nd 2020, the UAS7 Virtual Academy held its inaugural kick-off event. Project stakeholders from both the US and Germany came together virtually to learn more about the plans for the UAS7 Virtual Academy and get to know one another. Almost 50 faculty, project coordinators, e-learning and digitalization specialists as well as senior university members joined the event.

UAS7 sieht Gefährdung der Zukunftsperspektiven der europäischen Wissenschaft

Ende Oktober warnten die Rektorenkonferenzen aus Deutschland (HRK), Österreich (uniko) und den Niederlanden (vsnu) davor, die Finanzmittel für die europäische Zusammenarbeit in Bildung, Forschung und Innovation zu kürzen. Aktuell verhandelt die Europäische Union die mittelfristige Finanzplanung für die kommenden acht Jahre bis Ende 2027.
