Lab Project in Hydrogen Technology
University
Bremen City University of Applied Sciences
Fields
Chemical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Duration
3 months
Deadline
February 15 for fall internship
October 1 for spring internship
Supervisor
Prof. Dr. Lars Jürgensen
Project description
The aim of this project is the ongoing development of the hydrogen test infrastructure at the campus. Currently, a pressurized PEM electrolyzer is running for testing procedures at plant level. The produced hydrogen is released to the atmosphere without any utilization. During your stay, you will get familiar with the process engineering of hydrogen production via electrolysis. During your stay you will design possible solutions for drying, compression, and storage based on mass balances analysis. Solutions can be tested in lab scale and scaled up to a bench scale electrolyzer. The dryed and stored hydrogen can be used in a mobile fuel cell driving a bicycle trailer.
