On February 1, 2024, UAS7 organized one installation of the #DWIHzeitgeist series on “Science Diplomacy in Practice”. The webinar brought together UAS7 science diplomacy practitioners: Prof. Dr. Lars Ribbe from TH Köln UAS and Prof. Dr. iur. Ekkehard Strauß from HWR Berlin, as well as Prof. Melissa Bilec from our partner, the University of Pittsburgh.

Benjamin Brobbey is a fourth-year electrical engineering co-op student at Drexel University, USA. In September 2022 he came to Germany to complete a study and internship year at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg). He was one of the first recipients of a Gilman-DAAD scholarship.

UAS7 President and Executive Director of the UAS7 New York office visit Drexel University to expand their partnership and explore potential collaborations. Drexel's emphasis on co-op education, applied sciences, and entrepreneurship aligns well with UAS7's mission. Talks with university officials highlighted shared interests and possible innovative projects. Learn more about this visit that reinforced the strong bond between institutions.

This year, the hybrid event took place from 17 to 28th of October, gathering more than 140 students from 12 universities from all over the world. The multicultural teams worked hard to develop solutions tackling the Sustainable Development Goal 11: make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

On October 6 and 7, 2022 the Future Forum: Fabricating the Future took place at avangarde event space Company, and with strong representation from HAW Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, our partner Drexel University, and of course, a broad range of relevant US and German researchers, teachers, designers, producers, journalists and more. Our speakers got a chance to connect and network with US, Canadian and other German high-impact fashion folks and politicians. 

UAS7 is pleased to support the newly established DWIH - German Center for Research and Innovation - in San Francisco. On the occasion of the official opening ceremony, Patrizia Nobbe, Executive Director of UAS7 New York, sends our warmest wishes to our colleagues at the West Coast. The UAS7 Virtual Academy brings students together across continents for virtual collaboration: Students from Munich University of Applied Sciences developed a dice game with a 3D printer in their "3D Printing & Design" lecture as part of the UAS7 Virtual Academy. Their fellow students from the US partner university SUNY Canton are now working on a production concept.

On December 2nd 2020, the UAS7 Virtual Academy held its inaugural kick-off event. After almost a year, the DAAD-funded IVAC program officially ends on November 30. On Friday, November 19, the UAS7 Virtual Academy invited 25 stakeholders to share their key takeaways.
