UAS7 at the Conference of the German American International Network (GAIN) 2023

UAS7 went to Boston for the German American International Network conference on August 25-27, 2023. GAIN is a network of the German Research Foundation (DFG), the DAAD, and the AvH Foundation. The GAIN conference supports transatlantic mobility of early career researchers, attracting German, US, and international researchers from MIT, Harvard, Boston University, and regional research institutes, interested in German career paths and collaborations.

UAS7 New York Career Fairs

This spring, the UAS7 New York office co-hosted and participated in two career information events in the New York metropolitan area: the 'Germany Grad Fair 2023' for undergraduates, and an information session for the German International School in New York.

UAS7 at 2022 AIEA Annual Conference

At the 2022 AIEA Annual Conference, UAS7 had the pleasure to share their first year Virtual Academy experiences on a panel entitled “Taking Virtual to the Next Level”, jointly with Ben Brisch, Director of the DAAD North America Office, Ann-Kristin Matthe, Head of Section Digitalisation for Internationalisation at DAAD Germany, and Annette Richie, Director of Global Academic Programs at our partner University at Albany.

Moving Forward by Looking Back: The UAS7 Virtual Academy Celebrates a Successful First Year

On December 2nd 2020, the UAS7 Virtual Academy held its inaugural kick-off event. After almost a year, the DAAD-funded IVAC program officially ends on November 30. On Friday, November 19, the UAS7 Virtual Academy invited 25 stakeholders to share their key takeaways.

Getting to know a university on the other side of the Atlantic

As part of the UAS7 Virtual Academy Bremen University of Applied Sciences and the University at Albany held a joint seminar entitled “Air Pollution Control for Environmental Engineering” for majors in the summer semester of 2021. The seminar was offered as an elective module for students in their seventh semester in Bremen. During the seminar, students conducted case studies on the air quality of US and German cities before and during the Corona lockdown. The results from German cities were then compared with cities from the other continent.

Virtual Academy Spotlight Hochschule Bremen: Air Pollution Control – A Comparison Between US and German Cities

The course Air Pollution Control, part of the UAS7 Virtual Academy, was a transatlantic a cooperation between Bremen University of Applied Sciences and the University at Albany. The key goals of the joint course were to engage students in solving real-world air pollution problems through project-based learning. In doing so, they learned to foster collaboration, relationships and networks with fellow international students and their instructors.
