Moving the Cities 2021 - Hybrid entrepreneurship week with 145 students from 6 countries

Health, education and climate protection are three of the United Nations' global Sustainable Development Goals. Now, 145 students from six countries dedicated a whole week to these goals: During the Entrepreneurship Week "Moving the Cities" they developed solutions for the world's most pressing challenges. The event took place online, with only the kick-off event happening at the Teatro UNISINOS in Porto Alegre.

On January 14, 2021, the UAS7 North America Office invited friends and alumni to the traditional New Year’s reception, organized in cooperation with 10 Liaison Offices of German universities and research institutions, and hosted by the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in New York, Mr. David Gill.

Moving the Cities 2020, Hackathon Uniting Industry & Academia

Moving the Cities is an international event that has been reoccurring annually since 2018. It unites students, professors, industry representatives and universities from all over the world. The goal of Moving the Cities is to look at regional challenges that cities face from an international perspective. To do just that, 135+ students from 6 countries collaborated digitally for one week. 28 internationally mixed teams with participants from Brazil, Chile, Germany, Colombia, England and the USA competed in the final pitches to convince the international jury of their solution.

VIRTUAL CAREER BOOSTER GERMANY 2020

On November 5 and 6, UAS7 had the opportunity to participate in the Annual Goethe Institut "Career Booster Germany" - per 2020 restrictions in virtual form. This year, UAS7 was represented in three separate sessions, presenting Study Opportunities at Universities of Applied Sciences and graduate programs. Additionally, Nathanial Long - SIP alumnus - participated in an Alumni Panel Discussion about Studying in Germany.

Building Biopolis at the DWIH Future Forum

The German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI) New York recently called to envision the green city of the future. From October 14 to 17, interested Future Forum attendants were able to participate in the "Building Biopolis" project together with American and German climate experts from industry, policy and academia.
