Holiday Party 2023

On December 6th, 2023, we hosted our annual holiday party at the German House. Every year, the New York liaison offices of German universities, including University of Cologne, Campus OWL, UA Ruhr, University of Heidelberg, University of Freiburg, UAS7 and the German Research Foundation (DFG) celebrate a joint holiday celebration for friends, partners, and alumni.

Annual New Year's Reception 2023

Consul General David Gill warmly welcomed UAS7 friends, alumni, and other German universities to the anticipated annual New Year's Reception held on February 9th, 2023 at the Consul's residence. This event was a perfect occasion to connect, network and celebrate the new year in style. As always, the gathering was buzzing with excitement and provided a fantastic opportunity for UAS7 alumni in the greater New York area to reconnect and form new connections. It was truly an unforgettable experience that left everyone with a sense of renewed energy and enthusiasm for the new year!

Holiday Gathering 2022

On December 7, 2022 the Alumni Holiday Gathering had its comeback after two years. Together with the liaison offices of German universities located in New York City, the German Research Foundation (DFG), and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) we organized our well missed event at the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany New York. Friends and alumni of various German universities and institutions came together to kick-off the holiday season.

Moving the Cities 2022: Students develop solutions tackling SDG 11

This year, the hybrid event took place from 17 to 28th of October, gathering more than 140 students from 12 universities from all over the world. The multicultural teams worked hard to develop solutions tackling the Sustainable Development Goal 11: make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

At a hybrid University-Industry talk, sponsored by the Otto and Fran Walter Foundation, academic, business and industry leaders from three continents shared their ideas on university-industry relations and Innovation Powered by Applied Sciences.

Moving the Cities 2021 - Hybrid entrepreneurship week with 145 students from 6 countries

Health, education and climate protection are three of the United Nations' global Sustainable Development Goals. Now, 145 students from six countries dedicated a whole week to these goals: During the Entrepreneurship Week "Moving the Cities" they developed solutions for the world's most pressing challenges. The event took place online, with only the kick-off event happening at the Teatro UNISINOS in Porto Alegre.

Moving the Cities 2020, Hackathon Uniting Industry & Academia

Moving the Cities is an international event that has been reoccurring annually since 2018. It unites students, professors, industry representatives and universities from all over the world. The goal of Moving the Cities is to look at regional challenges that cities face from an international perspective. To do just that, 135+ students from 6 countries collaborated digitally for one week. 28 internationally mixed teams with participants from Brazil, Chile, Germany, Colombia, England and the USA competed in the final pitches to convince the international jury of their solution.
