In 2005, seven German Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) have founded the university network UAS7 – the first of its kind in Germany. The founding members are still members of the network today, demonstrating reliability and trust-based collaboration that has grown steadily over two decades at the level of university management and between other university departments.

Jessica, an international student from Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, shares her five-month experience at the UAS7 New York office and what a typical day looks like in her role.

To close out the year 2024, we hosted our annual holiday party at the German House on December 19th. It is always a pleasure to organize this event in collaboration with the New York liaison offices of German universities, including the University of Cologne, UA Ruhr , Campus OWL, University of Heidelberg, University of Freiburg, UAS7, and the German Research Foundation (DFG).

The UAS7 New York office gets new support with intern Jessica Borja Brito who will be helping in all things social media and event management.

After six exciting months of interning for UAS7 in New York City, my time in the city that never sleeps has come to an end. I would like to take a moment to look back on this incredible time.

Video now available! On February 1, 2024, UAS7 organized one installation of the #DWIHzeitgeist series on “Science Diplomacy in Practice”. The webinar brought together UAS7 science diplomacy practitioners: Prof. Dr. Lars Ribbe from TH Köln UAS and Prof. Dr. iur. Ekkehard Strauß from HWR Berlin, as well as Prof. Melissa Bilec from our partner, the University of Pittsburgh.

On December 6th, 2023, we hosted our annual holiday party at the German House. Every year, the New York liaison offices of German universities, including University of Cologne, Campus OWL, UA Ruhr, University of Heidelberg, University of Freiburg, UAS7 and the German Research Foundation (DFG) celebrate a joint holiday celebration for friends, partners, and alumni.

On Oct. 27, the New York based German university liaison offices hosted the fourth virtual Germany Grad Fair for North American (and beyond) undergraduate and graduate students interested in graduate studies in Germany.
