UAS7 New York Career Fairs
This spring, the UAS7 New York office co-hosted and participated in two career information events in the New York metropolitan area: the 'Germany Grad Fair 2023' for undergraduates, and an information session for the German International School in New York.
On April 28, UAS7 co-organized and presented at the Germany Grad Fair held at the German Consulate General in New York.
The two-hour fair served as a one-stop shop for New York-based undergraduates interested in studying in Germany at some point in their careers. More than 70 students met our German university representatives at their booths, as well as representatives from the German Consulate General, DAAD, DFG, Goethe Institut, the German Center for Research and Innovation, and Fulbright. These representatives were able to address questions about funding, visa issues, and other opportunities in Germany. Additionally, the students had the chance to interact with US alumni from German universities, who shared their experiences. Thanks to Campus OWL, who took a lead in organizing this event, to everyone who was involved and lent their time and expertise, to the alumni, and, of course, to the audience. It was a pleasure talking to you!
On May 15, we provided information on studying in Germany in general, with a particular focus on universities of applied sciences (spotlight Dual Studies!), to parents and future 'Abiturienten' of the German International School in New York (GISNY).
We would like to express our thanks to college advisor Klaus Himmelstein for the invitation, and the splendid joint work on the program with Hanni Geist from DAAD, Eva Bosbach and Alexandra Galley from the University of Cologne New York office, and Katja Simons and Lena Thiesbrummel from Campus OWL.
