Holiday Party 2024
To close out the year 2024, we hosted our annual holiday party at the German House on December 19th. It is always a pleasure to organize this event in collaboration with the New York liaison offices of German universities, including the University of Cologne, UA Ruhr , Campus OWL, University of Heidelberg, University of Freiburg, UAS7, and the German Research Foundation (DFG).
This year, we added a personal touch by preparing homemade baked goodies and sweets. It was wonderful to enjoy our traditional Glühwein and pretzels, too.
The evening began with a cozy gathering, allowing everyone to reconnect and feel closer before the current interns from the 15th floor of the German House, Moritz Lohmann (University of Cologne), Vanessa Hajduga (UA Ruhr), and Jessica Borja (UAS7), warmly welcomed everyone.

After the introductions, we moved on to taking pictures with our alumni at the holiday booth, which was beautifully decorated with festive adornments. All of this happened while our talented pianist Manuel Schmiedel played soothing jazz melodies in the background. The interns then surprised everyone with a fun trivia session filled with holiday facts, sparking friendly competition and plenty of laughter.
To wrap up our magical holiday evening, we all came together to sing various German and other traditional carols, with "Jingle Bells" being the highlight, where everyone joined in with enthusiasm, ringing their sleigh bells.
This personal touch, combined with creative ideas, made our holiday party an incredible night. We are truly thankful to everyone who attended, supported, and shared this magical moment with us!
We can't wait to see everyone again at our next holiday party!
