Bremen & Albany: Wrapping up a virtual cooperation in person
Prof. Dr. Mechthild Schrooten, Bremen City University of Applied Sciences (UAS7) and Prof. Dr. Rita Biswas, University at Albany (SUNY), organized a virtual "Global Finance" course for their students from both institutions as part of the UAS7 Virtual Academy this spring term. To wrap up their cooperation, which also included a joint presentation at an international conference, they met in Bremen to plan further research together.
After a full term of working together virtually, Rita Biswas finally visited Bremen City University of Applied Sciences in person at the end of October 2021. She was invited to talk to Rector Prof. Dr. Karin Luckey and Dr. Heike Tauerschmidt, Head of the International Office, about new collaboration formats. Rita Biswas also met with lecturers from the School of International Business to explore possibilities for further cooperation. Both lecturers also seized the opportunity to discuss their joint future research cooperation.
The Virtual Academy pilot projects, which have already been successfully implemented, build the foundation for a reorganization of international university cooperation and the establishment of innovative teaching and learning formats. Mutual visits of the cooperating professors help expand the cooperation between the participating universities in virtual, hybrid and physical formats.
