Annual New Year's Reception
On January 22, 2020, Consul General David Gill invited UAS7 friends and alumni as well as other German universities to the annual New Year’s Reception, traditionally taking place at the Consul’s residence. As every year, the New Year’s Reception was a great opportunity for us to reach out, as well as a networking opportunity for UAS7 alumni in the greater New York area.
Patrizia Nobbe, Executive Director of the UAS7 Liaison Office, and Inga Schulze-Velmede, current intern at the Liasion Office, personally invited UAS7 alumni form the area to participate in this special event, bringing together dozens of alumni from diverse backgrounds with a shared passion for Germany.
The representatives of the New York liaison offices agree that joint alumni events such as this one generate synergy effects that can hardly be achieved abroad by a single university or university alliance. Together, it is not only possible to attract more guests to the events, but also to expand the diversity among the guests. This way, we are able to create a platform for sustainable discussions between alumni from different disciplines, professions and age groups.
