„A match made in heaven“, so bezeichnete Prof. Dr. Sonja Klose den Auftakt ihrer virtuellen Zusammenarbeit, einem COIL-Projekt, mit Ihrem Kollegen Prof. Daniel Korschun. In einem virtuellen Global Classroom trafen sich rund 70 Studierende der HWR Berlin und der Drexel University, um gemeinsam ein Projekt zu erarbeiten.

The last two years changed the world and with it changed the parameters of applied sciences. At a hybrid University-Industry talk, sponsored by the Otto and Fran Walter Foundation, academic, business and industry leaders from three continents shared their ideas on university-industry relations and Innovation Powered by Applied Sciences.

April 2021 was an intense month of learning and cross-cultural interaction for students of the course Different Approaches to Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility in the US and the EU at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (HWR Berlin). Students joined selected counterparts from the University at Albany in the US for a month-long interactive online course that placed international collaboration at its heart.

Moving the Cities is an international event that has been reoccurring annually since 2018. It unites students, professors, industry representatives and universities from all over the world. The goal of Moving the Cities is to look at regional challenges that cities face from an international perspective. To do just that, 135+ students from 6 countries collaborated digitally for one week. 28 internationally mixed teams with participants from Brazil, Chile, Germany, Colombia, England and the USA competed in the final pitches to convince the international jury of their solution.

Dieses Jahr drehte sich beim 23. „Annual Colloquium on International Engineering Education“ (ACIEE) der University of Rhode island (URI) alles um das Thema "Engineering the Future". Im Fokus stand die Bedeutung von Innovationen, Anpassungsfähigkeit und starken Beziehungen für die Zukunft der Ingenieurwissenschaften. UAS7 wurde in einem Workshop zum Thema „Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Engineering Futures B“ durch Svea Petersen von der Hochschule Osnabrück vertreten. 

Das Deutsche Wissenschafts- und Innovationshaus (DWIH) New York rief kürzlich dazu auf, sich die grüne Stadt der Zukunft vorzustellen. Beim vier-tägigen virtuellen Event vom 14. bis 17. Oktober konnten interessierte Teilnehmer des Future Forum gemeinsam mit amerikanischen und deutschen Klimaexperten aus Industrie, Politik und Wissenschaft beim Projekt “Building Biopolis” mithelfen.

Dass die Hochschule Bremen im Bereich Internationalität führend in Deutschland ist, belegt die aktuelle „Förderbilanz 2019“, die der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) jüngst veröffentlicht hat. Darin weist der DAAD für die Hochschule Bremen bezogen auf das vergangene Jahr Förderausgaben in Höhe von 1,205 Millionen Euro aus - eine Steigerung von über 200.000 Euro gegenüber dem Vorjahr.

An “International student week for entrepreneurship” took place from Nov 11th to Nov 14th in São Leopoldo (RS). Coordinated by UNISINOS, Tecnosinos and FH Münster in an unique and innovative format, “Design the Future” was set up together with students from two UAS7 universities, FH Münster and TH Köln, as well as partners from Brazil and Chile and German based companies such as SAP, Fraport and Stihl.
