NYC Internship at UAS7
After six exciting months of interning for UAS7 in New York City, my time in the city that never sleeps has come to an end. I would like to take a moment to look back on this incredible time.
For the past six months I was able to support UAS7 at their liaison office at the German House in New York City. During my internship I was allowed to help with many different tasks and learn more about Public Relations, Event Management, the German and US higher education system and much more.
From my first day on I was warmly welcomed by Patrizia, who, over the course of my internship, taught me so much – about work and non-work-related things. Thank you so much for the trust you continued to have in me from day one!
Not only Patrizia, but everyone on the 15th floor at the German House was extremely supportive. Be it coffee breaks, collaborating on various projects, or just a quick chat in the hallway, thanks to all of you I never felt alone in this big and crazy city and knew there were people who had my back.
During my internship, UAS7 (co-)hosted and attended many different events that I was able to prepare or volunteer for. To name a few highlights I would like to mention our holiday party, where we, the interns from the 15th floor, were allowed to take the lead, the Career Booster EUrope, my first in-person career fair where I presented UAS7 and our programs to interested student, parents and teachers, and the Future Forum, where I developed a new understanding about the meaning of resilience in various different areas. I was able to learn about many different topics and connected with people with very inspiring backgrounds.
All in all, I look back very fondly on my time here in the US. The countless number of things I was able to see and experience, both thanks to my internship and in my free time left a significant impact on me. I know that this time at UAS7 in New York City is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I am very grateful for this opportunity and for my professional and personal growth over the last six months. If I had the chance, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
Thank you to everyone who took part in making this an unforgettable experience for me, especially to Patrizia.
