Credits are allocated to each module/class according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The regular student work load consists of 30 ECTS credits per semester, which amounts to 20 - 24 classroom contact hours per week. In each module/class the students’ work will be assessed and at the end of the semester students receive a final grade in each module/class. The successful completion of all modules/classes during the academic semester constitutes the prerequisite to enter the internship phase.
The successful completion of one semester of academic study is defined as having achieved at least 24 ECTS credits with a grade point average grade of at least 3.0 on the German grading scale.
According to the recommendation of the US National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Academic Credentials, 1 ECTS credit corresponds to 0.5 US credits.
The grading scheme applied by the UAS7 universities (according to the Diploma Supplement) comprises the following levels: 1 = Excellent (Sehr Gut); 2 = Good (Gut); 3 = Satisfactory (Befriedigend); 4 = Sufficient (Ausreichend) ; > 5 = Failure (Nicht ausreichend). To be awarded full credit for a module/class students need to have received a grade of 4 or better. Students earn no credit for modules/classes in which they have received a grade of 5.
Detailed course or module descriptions will be available shortly. In the meantime, please contact the respective university’s International Office for information regarding academic options and other relevant information.
